While I knew some about the Khmer Rouge, I had no idea that they emptied entire cities full of millions of people and forced them to work in the fields growing rice, etc. Like literally no one were left in some of the cities.

Three films to watch on the subject, The Killing Fields (a Hollywood take, but still a great film), and documentaries Enemies of the People and Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten, (about the death of homegrown Cambodian Rock and Roll).
