Perhaps the next step should be for ALL Texas doctors to have de-facto admitting privileges to ALL local hospitals. It may be time to draft such legislation to fix this oversight post haste. I would also include the provision that if hospitals don’t recognize admitting privileges for a Texas board certified physician, that their operating permits for their ER facilities are immediately suspended pending oversight review.
