Abbott & Co (including Paxton) are not up for election until 2026. Cruz is, but it’s likely that he will stay in office. Allred is mounting a mighty campaign, though, so I may be wrong.
They tried to impeach Paxton, but he was acquitted. When that happened, his cronies (Abbott, Patrick, etc) went after the people that tried to impeach him.
