What I’m asserting is that there is reason to doubt prevailing wisdom, thus “maybe not” in my original post. And as I said, there are numerous studies that are countering the prevailing wisdom regarding salt intake and blood pressure (and thirst), perhaps the most recently famous are the ones centering on dietary studies for long-term space travel.

I am certain there are studies that back the prevailing wisdom that we’ve been told for decades. The issue is that recent studies specifically constructed with the decades old underlying assumption of NaCL effects weren’t giving the expected results. Thus, there is reason to doubt the earlier studies.
