I’d probably have to give it a little thought. I might suggest that the reason I’m familiar with the names would be because it is advantageous to a larger number of slightly-less-wealthy people for the public to believe that villainy is concentrated in the hands of a smaller number of much-wealthier people – who coincidentally are not directly accountable to the public.

And they said it a long, long time ago. One of the Old English Durham Proverbs in the 11th Century was
Man deþ swa he byþ þonne he mot swa he wile.
(more or less) “A man shows who he is when he can do what he wants”
