My understanding is that Howey’s Wool was self-published, and became a sales phenomenon. I’d occasionally heard good things of it online, and bought the “Wool Omnibus, Books 1-5” as an ebook, but was really unimpressed. Major plot gaps and incredibilities if that’s a word, and reads like a beginning writer. Don’t begrudge the $5 or so I spent, but wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
