The optimal words to start a game of Wordle

I’ve been using STEAR, on the theory I’ll be eliminating most of the most common letters of the alphabet quickly. But I think RAISE is an interesting alternative, because narrowing the vowels quickly is, I’ve found, the best route to winning, so I’ll probably try that out tomorrow.

That’s what I use. Well, not exactly, I use ARISE, but it’s the same letters.
I don’t get why one would use DOGGO as noted in the article.
