Dot matrix receipt printers are still made
So to solve the problem of thermal paper why don’return to old school plain or recycled paper roll and ikn ribbon? If it’s slow and noisy the solution is ink jet or similar technologies. For added bonus the ink on receipt will not fade.
By the way here sometimes happens, especially for home appliances or elecronics shops that you get a laser printer A4 sheet with the invoice, a thermal printed receipt from the POS and a thermal printer receipt for the credit card terminal. There is also an electronics shop that still prints invoices on a dot matrix printer with a tractor feed!
