They missed a real opportunity, which I have corrected for them.

Possibly not an option for MacOS, but plenty of keyboards have ‘multimedia’ controls, ie volume and prev/play-pause/next buttons which work for 90% of media apps in windows and linux:

Um, every Mac keyboard has these and they work in 100% of applications.
