I remember that “ad” in that original issue of Mad, too.
It should be noted that this was a parody of the magazine ads for Breck Shampoo that made women look like religious icons.
At the time our parents were discussing if Mad Magazine was OK for kids. My own Mom pointed out that the jokes was harmless and dumb. Mad did sneak in some risque nudie suggestive drawings but thank FSM they quickly backed out of running those.
