Previously when I heard sports announcers, I thought it was just that they were talking louder, but clearly much more is going on than that.
When listening to him, I get the same sensation as when I hear the Mid-Atlantic accent from the 1930s-50s. Somethings “off” but I can’t exactly determine what. Is Sports Announcer a variant of Mid-Atlantic?
