I must be missing something, but it seems like Louis did the right thing. Most “blind” people I’ve met are seriously visually impaired, but, sometimes with a white cane, can make out enough to get around by themselves if given some idea which way they need to go. Heck, even those of us with 20/20 vision will sometimes have to ask a stranger which way Room 214 is.
If Louis feels his error was not inviting the blind kid to make fart noises under his arm or sit next to him on the bus or have dinner at his house, well, maybe a chance for that will come up later. If Louis is thinking he needs to be friends with the 8th grader just because he’s blind then Louis is going to do the wrong thing.
