That seemed a bit like saying you aren’t a hypocrite if you admit you are one. Most hypocrites don’t literally say “do as I say, not as I do” but if they do say so it proves they are hypocrites, it doesn’t something overflow the buffer and loop around through infinity to being a non-hypocrite. This seems like the same reasoning as “it can’t be a crime because Trump admits it in public”.
