I was thinking about how the US turned away boats of Jews fleeing Europe in the 1930’s, which didn’t solve anything, we still had to deal with Hitler and cleaning up a destroyed Europe. Perhaps the lesson here should be “rather than worry about Iran or North Korea, we should be using our national resources to make life in Central America better, so there aren’t migrant caravans coming here in the first place.”
