Adderall and methamphetamine (what you’d typically call speed) aren’t the same chemical compound. Yes, they are related and are both in the amphetamine family hence the -amphetamine suffix. But they aren’t the same drug and when administered in a medical setting, they treat different things.
Also keep in mind if you buy “speed” off the street, you really have no idea what you’re getting. You’re almost certainly not getting pharmacy-grade methamphetamine (sold under the brand name Desoxyn). If you’ve ever seen Breaking Bad, the impure chemical composition of street-grade meth was a critical plot point.
