But I doubt that if Wagner had actually been aound at the time and had supported Hitler, that anywhere in Western Europe would still be playing his music outside Far Right groups. Gill was an actual sex abuser, not someone who, say, campaigned to drop the laws on incest. To me that adds a dimension to any State use of his work, in that it would be seen by some as official endorsement of his views.
