Several years ago - in fact, the last time I was on Jetstar - I noticed a couple of odd things:
- there was a certain amount of … vandalism evident on the seats. It could have simply been that the plane was old and tired, but I interpreted at least part of it as being due to pushback against generally shitty service: treat customers poorly, and they will respond in kind.
- the cabin crew did NOT appear that they’d be competent in their primary role of assisting evacuation in the event of an emergency. I got the distinct impression that if anything bad happened we’d all be on our own, and prepared myself accordingly. Nothing did happen, of course(?), but it was a sobering insight.
