"Urban whore" sexism train wrecks Scientific American's holiday weekend

Google analytics tells a website information about a visitor, correct? (I read about it, but it sort of went over my head.) Information like the referring site, how long they were there, and how far they scrolled down? I remember someone once saying that BB once looked at whether or not people were reading comments by determining how far people scrolled down the page. If getting that information relied on something like Google analytics, then I think the results would be skewed because it seems like many tech people default to Java Script off unless a website is broken without it.
