Vagina museum opens soon

Just… no. I have no beef with @anothernewbbaccount (or you, for that matter), I enjoy talking with them generally speaking. But I do object to the whole shaming of women who make choices (or are forced to make choices) by noting that they “hurt the baby.” I don’t believe that was their intent, but it very much came across as a “women should do childbirth the right way” kind of comment. I realize and understand they were not being malicious or hurtful, but I also know that the choices that women make regarding childbirth and childrearing are constantly being questioned, and many, many of us are found wanting. It’s exhausting.

Given how often c-sections have literally saved the lives of women, there is no reason to shame women for doing so. Full stop. Every birth is entirely unique, every family situation is unique. Trying to say there is some “right” way to go about the business of childbirth is just plain silly, if not downright offensive.

So, unless you’re a woman, I’m not really interested in your take on c-sections… even then, if it’s not “people need to make the most healthy choices that works for them”, I am not interested. I would be interested in your personal story, just not your take on what I or anyone else should do, because I’m sick of people telling me what I should do with my body.
