Is there some unwritten law that journalists must continue to make this miscaracterisation that half of the “country” supports Trump when it’s actually not even half of the electorate, but rather just half of the people who actually vote (roughly ¼ of eligible voters)? Why continue to give the impression that support for him is greater than it is? Is it considered too gauche to point out that regardless of the outcome of the upcoming election that the majority of the country won’t be represented by someone they chose for the role?
