That dip from roughly 1915-1920 was what… WWI? There was also the 1918 Spanish Flu that killed over 1/2 million Americans. Still, it affected the U.S. population that much? The average age dipped to less than 40 years? Krikey!

This is our most true indicator. When the world starts feeling the full impact of climate change this little rosey chat between this upstart and the billionaire will be looked back as just two very well off people having a very insignificant fireside chat, minus the fire. Gates has billions and billions of dollars. He can do so much fucking more, but all we get is how much he is aware of the world’s problems.

That’s the so-called Spanish flu, yep. One of its more unusual characteristics was that it killed healthy people in the prime of life; influenza usually takes infants and the elderly.
