I spent two hours in a 5 story building in Beijing filled with electrical components - everything from simple 555 IC chips to faceplates for calculators to parts for iPhones. The whole building was full of small booths like these - half unmanned, the other half manned by bored workers like those in this video. The whole time I was there, I didn’t see a single purchase being made. It was so weird… (but probably not even in the top 100 weird things I saw in China).
