Yup. And if you want lasting change, it’s all about the education of the next generation. Give somebody a sandwich, they eat it and spit in your face when you won’t give them another one. Teach somebody how to earn their own sandwiches and they stop dragging the people around them down, and start lifting them up instead. Today it takes years of education to get a decent wage and enter the shrinking middle class.

My kids’ public high school is in an 80% white neighborhood, but since the locals mostly send their kids to taxpayer supported charter and magnet schools that exclude the poor, that high school is 80% black.
