It would be nice if there was some kind of a merit system for the nonviolent offenders to work their way up to better facilities and amenities. Someone really commits to making themselves a better person when they get out, perhaps they should get better amenities. Remember I said nonviolent. I’m very much a “law and order” kind of guy but I never understood the acceptance of inmate on inmate violence, rape and murder as part of the system. Mostly used to comedic effect by the so-called “enlightened” Hollywood entertainment industry.
