What Donald Trump Finds Out When He Researches the KKK

And it was a Democrat who signed both the voting rights and civil rights act into law in 1965, sending the segregationist fleeing for the hills. The Democrats are not the same party they were in 1940, 1900, or 1865.

The GOP embraced those same racists, meaning the GOP was not the same party it was in 1940, 1900, or 1865.

Learn some history.

I would say they were racist white authoritarians… There is a difference, I think. And yes, up to the 60s, there indeed would have been democrats in the KKK, as well as republicans. In the 20s, the KKK pretty much functioned as their own political party, almost.

But honestly, this one side or the other are the REAL racists, completely missed the entire point… The entire structure American was built on was a deeply racist one, going all the way back to Bacon’s Rebellion. Too many white people can’t face that, and instead feel as if they have to other that history. Well, until we can face up to the fact that our institutions are built on structural racism, we’re not going to change anything at all, only paper it over or band-aid the core problems.
