If you want creepy, go look up Ted’s father Rafael Cruz. Rafael declared his son “the anointed one” and, as a Christian Dominionist, that means that Ted is “blessed by God as a Christian to lead the world in a biblical manner”.
Ted has not denounced his father’s crazy ideas and, in fact, seems to be quietly embracing it.
