I bought into an older Taubes article in the NYT about fat. Recently I was trying to find the article and also happened to find a pretty good rebuttal
The drink a lot of water thing was busted a long time ago. You should definitely drink water. You don’t need to drink a lot of it.
Can’t argue with eating the right food - the right food being anything in moderation.
Same with exercise - moderate exercise is good for you, but the number of lifelong gym rats I know who’ve hit their 40s and are hobbling around like geriatrics now isn’t even funny. One of the main reasons people died a lot earlier in the pre-industrial age was because staying alive was incredibly physically demanding. It wears you out.
Moderation - I don’t think anyone ever made even a moderate fortune by preaching moderation.
