Sure, but I still find landlines are generally clearer in sound and are less likely to drop calls. Also, it hasn’t come to dominate my attention in the same way a cellphone has.
Agreed! I will say, however, that cable channels seek to lock in their viewerships in a way that has led to an annoying kind of decentralization of entertainment. Honestly, I’d love to find a single provider for all the channels I’d like to see without having to have a half dozen different accounts. Cable used to be that, but it’s so expensive (and it’s only comcast in our area, so no thanks). But every single provider wants to have their own channel, which they want you to buy. The one good part of having cable was being able to pay one price and get lots of what you wanted (and tons of what you don’t of course). I still think someone has got to figure out an ala cart solution, whether it’s netflix or someone new. Cause I’d happy them to be able to get say netflix services, plus Stars, HBO, and AMC (as an example).
???
That’s not what you meant is it? Carry on, then… sorry.
When someone is walking down the middle of the street against traffic(*) looking at their landline, at least the phone cable keeps them from going to far.
(*) Every morning on my campus. I have a theory as to why they decide to walk in the street instead of the perfectly good sidewalk: in the street they can reasonably assume the oncoming traffic will stop for them, while on the sidewalk they might walk into other phone zombies coming from the other direction.)
And your point is?
She’s doing good work by kicking the garbage out.
I think his point was that she’s not somebody most people would call a “guy”.
I call most everyone guy unless they personally tell me not to or I know they’re MtF Transgendered.
For an interesting – if somewhat amusing – alternative take on this, Hollywood sees it as a very bad thing:
But, but, CableCARD was supposed to have fixed all of this, right?
