I grew up as a Unitarian Universalist in the 80’s and every year, our congregation did a Memorial Day Weekend camping trip somewhere. One year, it was at a KOA out in western Maryland/West Virginia/Virginia (I was a kid so I don’t remember exactly where). Anyway, we were there for Friday and Saturday, but then the couple who ran the place found out what UUs were actually about along with denying the whole divinity of Christ and all that stuff. So Sunday morning, out came the shotguns and getting us to leave. It became a thing. Cops called, the couple arrested, court dates months later. Still had to vacate because there was no one running the campground after they were arrested. Strangely enough, I still have a water pistol from that trip that still works.
