Why do encryption tools suck?

All perfectly valid points, but I fear we are drifting off topic. My point was that email as a system never expected to deal with security issues. My point was even flawed systems like Slack (which is just an example, as there are others out there as well) are gaining popularity because flawed security is better than none at all.

No need to use super-secret stuff; it’s widely known they have exploits for most popular web browsers (remember HackingTeam ?). Once your browser is toast, nothing can save you.

Anyone who calls a web-based platform full of javascript “NSA-proof” is delusional.

You shouldn’t speak of things of which you know not.
