You can call me AI

Axel Springer, BI [Business Insider]'s parent company

Eww!

“Die Bild-Zeitung ist ein Organ der Niedertracht. Es ist falsch, sie zu lesen. Jemand, der zu dieser Zeitung beiträgt, ist gesellschaftlich absolut inakzeptabel. Es wäre verfehlt, zu einem ihrer Redakteure freundlich oder auch nur höflich zu sein. Man muß so unfreundlich zu ihnen sein, wie es das Gesetz gerade noch zuläßt. Es sind schlechte Menschen, die Falsches tun.” --Max Goldt

A classic German quote about Bild, the main tabloid published by Axel Springer Verlag, the German equivalent of the Murdoch group:

“Bild is a publication of craven infamy. It is wrong to read it. Anyone contributing to this newspaper is entirely unacceptable to society. It would be a mistake to be nice towards one of its editors, or even to be polite. One has to be as unfriendly towards them as the law just about allows. They are bad people who do wrong.”

A great way to show an fundamental misunderstanding of why people connect to music. Sure a catchy beat and tempo can get people dance for a bit, but it can’t connect at a deep level if they can’t relate to the lyrics.

Plus the way he talked about the YT deal with synthetic voices shows that he did not learn from the successes and shortcomings of vocaloid and it’s music scene. Going by his logic, Hatsune Miku and the synth voices that came after her would have replaced most of singing voices in jpop starting back in 2007 lmao. But what it actually did do is bring an entire generation of small time music producers into the attention to the public and in turn changed the course of music there. Kenshi Yonezu, massive innovator started off as Hachi. Yuyoyuppe, basically invented kawaii metal while screwing around in the vocaloid editor and eventually shocked the worldwide metal scene with the songs he wrote for Babymetal.

To follow up on this, the Billboard Power 100 list is out for this year.

Taylor Swift is at the top of the list but number 2 is that guy. Along with number 3 (Rob Stringer), number 7 (Robert Kyncl) and number 8 (Lyor Cohen) have hyped up this particular youtube AI voice program in that article

Interestingly enough number 18 (the guy who runs BTS’ label) had some experience with promoting vocaloid in the past with it being Big Hit’s last project before the debut of BTS with like half of that band being SeeU’s backup dancers on a few tv appearances. Bang had talked off and on about Ai projects in the past.
