Facial recognition is a concern because I am gazing straight into a camera. I don’t trust Zoom not to share my image with so-called security firms such as Clearview AI, who then sell data to police & other government agencies, without oversight. Clearview AI is conducting surveillance on protestors in the USA even as I write here. America’s new “Real ID” system uses facial recognition software which can then easily be matched up to other data captures. Citizens can be identified, doxxed, stalked, & harassed by an authoritarian state or private interests. All because of a stupid Zoom call?
