Get ready for the big bang as 3D printing patents expire

I don’t see this as revolutionary, not yet anyways. Printing more plastic junk just because you can doesn’t mean you should…especially not for consumer garbage that will end up in landfill. Prototyping for a small home based business I guess is great, but broad adoption by the masses just seems wasteful. If it were possible to print photovoltaics or parts for a pelton wheel micro-hydro generator, I think I would be more excited. Coffee mugs and 3D bobble heads…meh.
