Google bans revenge porn

The basic idea is good. But what about the copycats sites like fapshows and myex? I think that they should track all the revenge sites and close them. Even if they ban the sites on google which is about 70% of all the search trafic there is still a way for them to resist only on bing and yahoo. So bottom line it is a great start but it should evolve and complety wipe out revenge sites.

But the real question is, are they going to automate it like they do YouTube’s DMCA system (which we all know is easily abused) or are they going to have humans looking over each request? Are they going to require the petitioner to provide sample photos for comparison or will they just take it on faith that the person submitting the request is the person in the photo?

Will the new policy allow Beyonce to remove this photo from google’s search results?

No. What that seems to actually be is the real attempt to derail this conversation before it starts.

Over to the right is a start a new thread button. I recommend using that if you want to make a comment which has nothing to do with the topic at hand, except tangentially. The topic is revenge porn, and bans on it. Not beyonce and IP.

I mean, no aspersions on you, but who would want to derail a conversation about revenge porn?

They’re limiting it to sexually explicit content, so your terrible Beyonce photo is safe from censorship.

I thought it was a perfectly valid and relevant question. How do they go about detecting “revenge porn?” Will the new system be open to abuse? If I tell it www.gop.com is revenge porn, will they simply yank the site, or investigate?

I notice you did not include any pictures of beyonce, so i consider you questions invalid and irrelevant. As well as indicative of your seriousness about revenge porn.
