The novel Little Brother was released under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-ShareAlike license. I don’t see any mention of Creative Commons on the play’s site, so I’m assuming the play was written under a separate licensing deal since it’s commercial.

That’s exactly what I came to say! The play’s site explicitly states “all rights reserved” - maybe it’s considered a new work?
