There’s a Lagos in Ghana now too?

Some folks are saying the Wired article doesn’t hold water.

Note, they don’t say there isn’t a problem. They say someone is hyping this location and that some of the math just doesn’t add up.

Slashdot carried the story a week ago too.

The electronics — 20 to 50 items per day — are collected from Accra businesses and households. The majority of Accra (population 5M) have had televisions since the 1990s, according to World Bank metadata (over 80% by 2003).

Yeah, that’s where I first saw it. I figured I’d link to the original, but there is some good discussion on slashdot as well.
