http://www.americansongwriter.com/2015/04/story-behind-robert-johnson-cover-photo - Friedman’s portrait appears to be missing something critical from the photograph - the other half of the guitar (above the fretboard)! I realize it’s hard to see, being a black&white photograph, and nearly the same color as Johnson’s jacket, but it’s still there.
