UK Serious Crime Agency proposes ban on small cellphones that don't look like cellphones

How the hell are you going to fit that up your ass to smuggle into prison?

Faraday cage or let Wegman’s build the prison. I’ve yet to go into one of their grocery stores and have a signal more than 10 feet from their front door. There’s a lot that disrupts the signals. Security glass with the wire wrapped through it is one of the most effective ways to ruin a phone’s signal.

Because the criminals would not be wise enough to take 2h trip to France to buy one? Or order one online?
Also; metal detectors?

PS how would they formulate that law? In 10 years both the cell phones and car keys will probably look nothing like now. The law would end up being either laughably quaint “ye shall not make telephone apparatus that resembles banana” or wast and ambiguous.

Probably best just not to let them take me alive, really.

With a crowbar, of course.

Yes, one would think it’s obvious, but today’s democrats are still unwilling to acknowledge that their system helps to prevents the majority to be screwed by the ones in power, but that it does little by itself to protect minorities, even from being murdered. Look at Hitler, he was elected, though with some help from the conservative German elites bending the law.

A little more complex than that (please any history buffs out there feel free to correct.) What i recall from classes point at the nazi party having just enough votes along with connections to other coalitions to effectively keep the parliament blocked on pretty much everything until they agreed to make Hitler vice-chancellor or something to get him to agree to stop deadlocking things.

The equiv of a five year old locking themselves in their room when you have to be gone in five minutes or you miss Very Important Thing.

Also do we need to Godwin so soon? Just look at the winner take all system we have. Parties other than the Big Two actually take votes away from a candidate that is least worst since it divides the popular vote on that particular issue leaving the opposition able to take charge even though by the numbers a majority of the population disagrees with their policy since no one opposing candidate got enough votes to oppose.

No, they had an actual majority. Reichstag elections March [edit] 1933: NSDAP 43,9 %. Then, the 12,3% of the Communist Party were anulled in the wake of the Reichstag fire for which they were blamed - which gave the NSDAP the absolute majority. To give Hiter absolute power - legally! - later that year, he needed a 2/3ds majority - he got that from all the centrist and liberal parties, every single one of their MPs voted for him, only the SPD (socialists) against him.

Your post is confusing. You appear to be blaming the Democratic Party of 2013 for the rise of Hitler. The rest of it didn’t really make sense either.

No, I just strayed far off topic, this has nothing to do with the US Democratic Party. I was talking about democracy as a concept, you know? A for of government? Not everything people talk about is about domestic U.S. affairs, you know.

I was making some detailed, valid, albeit admittedly off-topic points about 20th centuries German history. So what’s your angle? Everyone talking about how non-Nazi conservatives helped Hitler into power STFU? I don’t think so.

My angle is that you lost, as does anyone who brings up Hitler. You lost.

“STFU” are your words, your attitude, not mine.
