A tip to keep your home address off the internet

Isn’t this all free and available via phonebooks?

That thing I throw in the recycle bin every year? And actually now my address would not be in there as I don’t have a land line anymore. $40/month with no extras just to get telemarketing calls all the time and I get all the unlimited talk/text with caller ID/voice mail and a fair amount of 4G data for $25/month. Dear telcos why are you not bothering to compete with this?

Well, this has led me down a rabbit hole of self-googling. Apparently someone stole several of my photographs and is selling them through a stock image service. I’ve found five news sites (actual news, like WaPo, not random blogs) who have my photographs and this thief is credited in the cutline. I know where my rage will be directed for a few days.

The skeptic/borderline conspiracy theorist in me thinks that that service is just an arm of data brokers who post personal information.
