Al Franken and FCC commissioner Clyburn want limits on forced arbitration

Don’t forget that more and more of the companies that act as arbitrators have shareholders who are also their corporate clients.

Nope. No conflict of interest here. Move along, move along.

Al Franken is my Senator. Thanks, Al.

I’m down with that. Just like most things in MURICA!!!, arbitration has been twisted to punish people and reward companies.

I’d kind of like to hear why forced arbitration (where the customers don’t have an honest say in choosing the arbiter) should be legal in a nation whose national pastime is shouting “freedom.”

Because the national past-time is signaling freedom, not securing or fostering it.
