I have a deregulation example! It was nearly impossible to find Belgian beer like kriek in Germany because it was not legal to label it as beer. This had to be deregulated because of the common European market : )
So if they didnât call it beer because of labeling standards, what was it sold as?
brewed alcoholic beverage or so. but nearly no one was willing to import and relable it as it was too much hassle.
German Beer Purity Law of blahdeblahdeblah?
exactly. the blahdeh part was mostly âprotect German breweries against competitionâ
So by removing the regulation, the German beer drinking public is inundated with inferior foreign piss water daring to call itself the beer they know and love. I know its a stretch. But it is not like the deregulation of utilities, banking or other tightly controlled industries done that used to protect the public.
Legalized MariJUana.
Decriminalization isnât the sort of privatizing state and federal services we were discussing.
Besides, âmedicinalâ marijuana existed before this.
I know, but my inner libertarian couldnât help being snarky, plus it really likes weed. Sorry.
Isnât that actually more a case of adding regulation (at least, in the way itâs being carried out currently in the US)?
Reflect further on this question in the context of your change-government-to-a-pet-or-a-butler comment, and you may enjoy a big aha moment.
Hell yeah it is! Honestly though, I think it has something to do with not wanting my dealer putting heroine in my weed so I keep coming back to him. Dealers and producers canât really do that if itâs being regulated because itâs a legal crop.
I knowwwww, thereâs plenty of consensual âcrimesâ most all spectrum of happy mutants agree on.
I like the weed. It doesnât like me. Always makes me pass out.

May I consider this wistfully for a moment?
Damn my high tolerance to all comers.
