That is why it’s so aggravating to me. That the most murderous right wing regime in history wasn’t left wing should be the most obvious fact in human history.

I guess I do believe that could be the case. I think the “intellectuals” who lead these movements are probably lying… but i think plenty of people will buy into the whole “well socialist is right in the name, so they must be commies!” I mean, people believe Joe Biden is a communist, so… 
I think it’s this whole thing of trying to make everything we consider bad in a society to be the fault of the left or of the modern government. You’ve likely seen how the GOP tries to turn racism around and pin it on the modern Democratic party.
