The tone of the report is awkwardly in the direction of making it sound like a bad thing; but apparently the internet’s reaction to our smug smash-and-grab ‘AI’ bros has been quite strikingly negative.
I suspect that it’s not a coincidence that reports of Perplexity and friends just totally ignoring robots.txt; and Apple and others laundering some of their training data through an arms-length nonprofit are starting to crop up.
