The US Govt carried out the extra-judicial execution of a NZ citizen recently. I’m not terribly happy about that, as you might imagine. I’m even less happy that the Prime Minister’s response was a shrug, a goofy gin, and an “aw shucks.”
If he’d run on that platform - “Obama '08: He’ll Kill A Lot Fewer People Than Bush” - it would have been at least honest.
They both crossed the line though.
Once you have ordered ten people killed then it isn’t as huge a psychological barrier to jump to ten thousand than the psychological barrier for if you are considering the first kill.
It’s like a gateway drug.
