The AP is clearly in the wrong here. I know because I have The Internet on my computer:
I still insist on using the term E-mail. âe-mailâ just doesnât sit with me.
Also, I guess we need this here.
The Earth is covered with earth.
The Internet is connected to internets?
Wouldnât the silt at the bottom of the ocean still count?
I think this is not covered by the meaning of âcoveredâ*, but English is not my first language and I could be wrong.
*) : D
I will alert my iSP immediately.
And tUnE-yArDs?
@Nell_Anvoid, get off my lawn, you young whippersnapper! And pull up those pants, what would your mother think if she saw you dressed like that!
But that does happen from time to time, though not always by plan: a key line goes down somewhere and then you will see a report that the affected region has been cut off from the Internet. Then, locally, you could say they had âan internetâ, in a localized sense, but they were separated from the global Internet.
And, as a long-time Chicago adherent, I have to add:
So internet is now generic for all the various Internets?
