My first real* computer game… Since the colors were based on artifacts, one had to reboot the computer until you had the correct scheme.

*that wasn’t typed in out of a magazine

Great game, I remember playing it quite a bit back in the day. I wouldn’t mind a remake or reboot, but considering AAA gaming today, it would be in HD or VR with tons of microtransactions.

AZTEC!!! I played my brains out on that one before I even owned a computer. The Apple IIe that resided on the set of Doc’s Workshop would always be put away on non-shoot days in Stephen Finney’s set decorating office - and that’s where I’d hide out and play (among other things) Aztec! The best!

Brings back memories…played it on my Apple ][+ (which still works btw).

For those interested…I give you the Apple Disk Server:

First PC game at home, played on the Apple ][ I was renting for $5/wk from a friend:

I was already burning time with Ultima III/IV on the school computers by then, though.

Not the most exciting subject for a Let’s Play video, though…

Yes, I also had that game. Simplistic in retrospect, it really kind of was the forerunner of turn-based conquest games like Master of Orion, Civilization, etc.

Reach for the Stars! I remember that game. A bit like

wasn’t it?

A couple of days ago, I was watching LGR and thought–

holy crap, those were the games my dad played on the Apple II!

Maybe it was Omnitrend’s Universe that really stoked the nostalgia.
