Noo! We’ve got the equivalent of a zero day against the BBS. All that can happen is that C-o-d-i-n-g-h-o-r-r-o-r will come along and patch the mark-up sanitizer to remove our toys!
EDIT: @smulder, any idea on how to cancel the effect after the word or phrase it is used on?
Easier way to do the equivalent size increase, credit goes to @smulder:
<h1><div><h1><div><h1><div><h1><div><h1><div><h1><div><h1> foo
foo
foo
foo
foo
foo
foo
foo
I’d assume just close all the <div>
tags
<div><h1><div><h1><div><h1><div><h1> alpha <div><h1> beta </div> gamma </div></div> delta </div></div> epsilon
alpha beta
gamma
delta
alpha beta
gamma
delta
alpha beta
gamma
alpha beta
gamma
beta
Ah. That makes sense. When I attempted that I also tried to close the <h1>
tags, I think thats why it didn’t work for me.
normal <h1><div><h1><div><h1> big </h1></div></h1></div></h1> normal
normal
big

Coming back to a very old post, would it be sensible to include a footnote plugin into BB BBS discourse installation? (And are you the right person to ask? Are you servicing this instance?)
I specifically ask if it’s sensible, since I guess there will be a trade-off between people who would be using this (me, sometimes*), the amount of time to install it, the amount of time to service this, and the amount of additional server capacity this would need. (Me, for one? I’d go for it. I like footnotes!†
*I just made a footnotes with and here.
†Sir Pterry saw to that. Otherwise, I’m a scientist, not trained in humanities much. We tend to have attributed in-text citations [citation needed] with references. Footnotes are discouraged‡.

You can also use <small>

Yeah, I know. I just wondered if the plugin was worth installing.
The [^Sartre]1 example was quite nice.
[^Sartre]:Hell is other people asking for plugins.
1: (paraphrased)
So I guess the BBS is using Apple emoji now
or is it the new standard for every Discourse forum everywhere?
We were using the Twitter set before but it was incomplete for newer emojis (and frankly a little blah), so I switched it, as this set seems to be well cared for.
Hmm, they shouldn’t be out of sync. We do have to update for each Unicode release though.

Here’s 13.1

And 13.0
not sure if this is the proper thread for this question, but here goes:
what happened to the gif button in the formatting tools at top of the reply box?
thanks in advance
Huh. Browser dependence? I do BB in Opera, which is Chromium-based.
thing is, it was there yesterday.
using the BBS on android mobile. weird.
(and I did, in fact, turn it off and back on again )
Looks like a change broke a whole lot of plugins, including the gif component:
We will have to wait until the fix, unfortunately. Nothing I can do.
