Part of the reason so many bigots rage against Black people getting actual equal standing in society is that they fear if we have any power, weāll automatically treat them as badly as they have always treated us.
Iām starting to wonder how that attitude breaks down based on income level/wealth. Those who could afford it had no problem having Black people in their homes, cooking their food, and watching their kids. The opportunities for harm were really high - and rarely happened.
All I can picture is a governing body straight out of Zoolander, a group of comically overdressed primadonnas who sit behind a grand dais passing down judgement to supplicants who appear before them requesting guidance on that seasonās hottest trends for necklines and accessories.

I think the difference is summed up as servant vs. authority figure. For better or worse, we docs are kinds seen as the latter. Cooks and housekeepers very much the former.

The texas school district (one of many) with the racist grooming rules which were deployed only against Black males has been schooled by a court. A court found the policy is racist, cannot be enforced, and the Black kids can go back to their school/graduate (when school should be a thing again). Not an issue with life or death stakes, but I think itās important. Now I want to see the district made to pay the NAACPās court costs. ETA: I wish the superintendent had to pay some out of his own racist pocket.
From Lafayette, La. Trayford Pellerin was killed by police Friday night and the protests last night were met with smoke grenades and arrests.
The Mayor issued a statement about the shooting praising the cops that didnāt even bother to pay lip-service to giving a shit about Trayford Pellerin or his family.
