So Steampunk has fully reached the ‘no true Scotsman’ phase of cultural signification.
Reached? It’s been like that ever since I started poking my head around about six or so years ago.
Mostly it’s just hate against random cogs. There’s a hole lot of diversity and discussion/argument over different pieces or how acceptible it is to harvest a typewriter for parts… or glue/carve out a book’s innards for a project.
Plus it’s all subjective ya? Just because I dislike ‘throw cogs on it’ as an approach doesn’t mean it’s not ‘thing’. Whatever floats your boat buddy, but I’m just going to focus on the outfit bits that I find interesting.
