And now we know where Roland Hamburger went on vacation last year.
This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we’ll be lucky to live through it.

DS+R som the competition:

The Pina Bausch Zentrum (PBZ) will build on the radical ethos of Pina Bausch for a new generation of leadership and the pioneering choreography of Boris Charmatz. The shared DNA of their work, which resists the rigid boundaries of dance, requires an architecture that challenges institutional norms.

In a letter to the Planning Inspectorate, seen by PA Media, MSG said it was “extremely disappointing” that Londoners would “not benefit from the Sphere’s groundbreaking technology and the thousands of well-paying jobs it would have created”.

who -exactly- would have really “benefit” from this, if I may ask?

A spokesperson for the company added it was committed to working with “forward-thinking cities around the world” who were “serious” about bringing the project to their communities.

ah, I get it; “forward thinking” cities aint those which try to make urban life worth living with low traffic, green areas and affordable housing, but cities which encourage commercialization by private “investors” at all costs, right

Is it really thousands that work in the Las Vegas ball? Or are they just counting everybody who benefits from higher footfall?

And what makes them think that the fact that a giant lightbulb isn’t a nuisance in the tackiest city on earth also doesn’t make it unbearable to live close to it in an actual city?

The Labour mayor said the venue would cause “significant light intrusion resulting in significant harm to the outlook of neighbouring properties, detriment to human health, and significant harm to the general amenity enjoyed by residents of their own homes”.

Yeah, no shit. Why not just make it cool and immersive inside? I thought that was going to be the main draw for paying customers? Why do you need the outside to ruin people’s neighbourhood? Oh right, because that’s what’s going to end up on social media
